Designing a space for personal development & purpose.

Whylab is a structured interactive learning experience where groups of 6 individuals discover their unique purpose. We had the pleasure to work with the whylab team in a 4-week sprint where we designed a native application which purpose is to enhance their existing service.

WEEK DEFINE

We started the first week with an Ideation and a Concept workshop with the main decision-makers of Whylab. The Ideation workshop was about creating as many ideas as possible using the Brainwriting method. After the Ideation, we grouped the similar ideas into clusters. Each cluster represents a feature of the app. In the second workshop, Concept, we prioritized the clusters/features and created a concept incorporating the most important features. The client’s wish was to have a product as simple as possible that would keep the users engaged long after completing the whylab boot camp. In parallel, we conducted a competitive analysis of strong contenders in the mindfulness and personal development market.

2

WEEK PROTOTYPE

With a solid concept in place, we started working on the mid-fidelity prototypes. At this stage, we defined the architecture of the native app, worked on each feature, and designed the layouts. In parallel, our creative artists and UI designer were working on 2 design directions that we submitted to the client.

3

WEEK DESIGN

Once the client decided on the desired design direction, we started building the high-fidelity prototypes. Our goal was to create a prototype as accurate and believable as possible to test it with real users.

4

WEEK TEST

At beginning of the week 4, we added interaction to the prototype, prepared the flows that we wanted to test, and got in touch with the participants. We conducted 6 usability testing sessions with participants that took part in the whylab boot camp. They offered us valuable feedback that we used to compile a report and iterate on the designs.
